Free TAFE Courses - Victoria

Posted: 6th Feb

The Victorian Government have recognised that there are skills shortages across Victoria  in the apprenticeship and traineeship space, so they have decided to roll out the 'Free TAFE for Priority Courses' program.

The program has been implemented to both increase the number of skilled tradespeople in our workforce and to provide access to more people to complete a traineeship or apprenticeship by reducing financial barriers to education. This program sees up to 50 free TAFE courses being offered.

So, what does it look like?

There is 20 Victorian apprenticeship pathway courses (also known as pre-apprenticeships) and 30 non-apprenticeship pathway courses available as part of the free TAFE scheme.

Some of the courses on offer include:

  • Cert II in Building and Construction
  • Cert II in Electrotechnology
  • Cert II in Plumbing
  • Cert IV in Disability
  • Cert III & IV in Education Support
  • Cert III in Individual Support
